Installation Summary
When we arrive at your home, our installation works will look like this:
- Our skilled fitters will start by conducting a Conservatory Health Check/Survey when they arrive at your property, remove the existing roof and checking that the roof is square.
Externally
- The eaves beam is the first part to be installed.
- Preinstalled M6 bolts are set at a predetermined position.
- Multi-angled cleats are used to fix the eaves joints together which are then secured with screws.
- The top fixed glass units are removed to enable the eaves to be secured from underneath.
- Each rafter is then fixed in position using the M6 bolts provided.
- Wall plates are fixed to the wall on both sides of the ridge plate using concrete screws.
- M8 bolts slide to the end of the hip which is then attached to the ring beam.
- Check the hip points towards the centre of the ridge ensuring they are aligned.
- Jack rafters attached to each side of the hip and are secured to the hips using M8 bolts.
- This is repeated until all of the rafters are firmly in place.
- The new fascia and guttering are then attached.
- 100mm Insulation is then installed from the outside, sitting between the aluminium rafters.
- The pre-cut plywood is secured to the rafters and guttering, using 38mm screws to add structural strength.
- The eaves guard and waterproof membrane are installed next followed by vertical battens set at 250mm apart to ensure the correct air flow.
- The tiles are now ready to be installed.
- Tiles are installed from right to left to ensure they interlock correctly.
- Battens are added to the ridges on the roof and hips ready to receive the ridge caps which are fixed directly to the battens using screws.
Internally
- Horizontal battens are added.
- Insulated plaster boards are cut to size and installed.
- Plasterboard in then skimmed ready for painting.
